Engagement Session // Michelle + Tyler // Atlanta, Georgia
I recently met up with Michelle and Tyler in Cabbagetown, a cool little neighborhood in East Atlanta, Georgia. The weather had not been in our favor for the previous two Sundays that we tried to meet so this shoot fell on Easter Sunday. Being huge Game of Thrones fans, it was important that we scheduled the shoot with enough time to get home for the second episode of the Final Season. Golden hour ends at about 8pm so that was no problem! These two are big metal music fans and I love all music, we talked about our favorite metal bands pretty much non stop. I love having a mutual interest with my clients because it gives us a talking point and lets them feel more comfortable in front of my camera. If I can get them to have a conversation with me in between shutter clicks they will loosen up and forget that I’m even taking photos, which make for better shots. I can’t wait for their wedding later on this year. Especially the reception because we all discussed how cliche and boring most reception music tends to be.
Save The Date // Patrick and Mary // Nashville, TN
Patrick and Mary’s rainy Nashville engagement session
I recently visited the wonderful city of Nashville TN! It’s been a hot minute since I’ve been there but my friends Patrick and Mary live there and bought house pretty recently so I was overdue for a visit. They got engaged back in September but why would anyone want to do photos in the fall with leaves and stuff. Let’s do it in the bleak rainy Nashville winter! I kid, we had it on the books for a while.
I have known Patrick for a really long time and I met Mary not long after they started dating and think they are perfect together. Both have very extroverted personalities and make me want to be less introverted. Patrick is one of the funniest people I know but his humor is very smart and dry. If you don’t know him you might be slightly confused at some of is humor. I completely understand it and I am probably holding my side laughing uncontrollably trying to catch my breath and Mary may be having to apologize for something he said or did. Thank god for her.
We spent the rainy afternoon avoiding all the touristy bro country bars and had a good ole time, even in the cold rain. Patrick and Mary had their first date near Printer’s Alley downtown Nashville, so of course it made sense to go back there to announce their engagement. We eventually made it on to the pedestrian bridge that crosses the Cumberland River until the rain started falling too hard. We then decided to call it a day and get out of the rain.
I am honored to actually be a part of their wedding. I won’t be shooting it but you better bet that I’ll have my little Fuji X100f on my neck the whole time, documenting what will be an amazing day.
Congrats Patrick and Mary, love y’all!
